The 2013 Don Melchor is a faboulus showing in this vintage. It begins with loads of dark fruits that come together with smoky and earthy undertones which combine with the green bell pepper, tar and black licorice aromatics that all take shape in the glass. The palate is rich and plush, unveiling a silky mouthfeel that entices with layers of black tea, Asian spices, sweet pipe tobacco and rich dark fruits that all expabd through the finish. Dense and layered, with tremendous nerve and tension, this stunning wine should go on to cellar well for two decades.
