ANDELUNA Malbec 'Altitud' 2013

Head winemaker Manuel Gonzales has crafted some excellent juice here. This hand harvested Malbec was aged in French oak for 12 months prior to bottling. This wine opens with aromas of lavender, coffee grounds, anise and milk chocolate. There are flavors of anise, blackberry preserves, dark chocolate and roasted figs. A lovely effort with a strong mineral backbone. Slightly tannic, this dense Malbec is drinking beautifully and has a graphite edge. (Best 2015-2022) - December, 2015 (OB)
