The 2010 ‘Nouveau Monde’ Pinot Noir from Soliste comes from a block in the Sonoma Coast near Petaluma. Its south facing and only 20 miles from the coast, which allows it to take advantage of the cool air from the Pacific and San Francisco Bay. The wine was aged in 100% French Oak (50% new) from Pommard MonoClone. This gorgeous Pinot Noir delivers aromas of cherry, pomegranate, strawberry, rose pedal and spices. It’s soft and elegant with lots of fresh red fruits on the palate. The finish is smooth and delicious with some acidity on the back end. This is drinking well right now, and I expect it to continue to show well over the next 6-8 years. (Best 2014-2022) - April, 2014 (MD)
