The 2021 Melanson Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Adversity Cellars is a drop-dead stunning wine. It immediately begins to impress as it opens to incredibly perfumed aromas of ripe blueberries, blackberries, and dark cherries which are laced with sweet spices, mocha, violets, sage, and warm gravel nuances that all take shape. This full-bodied Cabernet is beautifully structured and polished, with a gorgeous opulent texture. It goes on to impress as rich layers of ripe, fresh, concentrated dark fruits, mocha and exotic spices that continue to expand through the long, voluptuous finish. This delivers on every level, and it is nothing short of an utterly fascinating wine from Russell Bevan. While this is already drinking beautifully upon release, it also possesses the potential for a drinking window that could span over two decades.
