The 2016 Chateau Beauvillage opens to aromas of dark plums and blackberries which are woven together with tobacco, spring flowers, coffee and spices. On the palate this is medium-plus bodied, with nicely polished tannins that frame the core of ripe red fruits and sweet toasted notes, which expand through the finish. This is approachable now, but should also continue to evolve nicely over the next few years.
