Pasxa from winemaker Todd Alexander of Force Majeure, is a project to watch. Their first releases in 2018 were absolutely phenomenal, and this 2019 is even better. This Grenache from the River Rocks Vineyard in The Rocks District takes on some of the terroir with a nose of wild strawberry fruit leather, crushed wet gravel, green olive, crème d’anglais, fresh cedar and some spicy herbal characteristics. I literally sat and enjoyed the nose on this wine for over an hour. The palate brings impressive flavors of fresh wild strawberry, red cherry, white pepper, fresh thyme and brown dried mushroom. The finish seriously extends for several minutes and begs you for more. My only wish is that I had another bottle of this to take to France next week so I could open it up in a beautiful park overlooking the Eiffel Tower and enjoy it with some French cheese and a freshly baked baguette - I would drink the entire bottle by myself. Highly recommended.
