Another extraordinary example of Pinot Noir from Paul Lato, this Pinot Noir comes from the famed Solomon Hills Vineyard (Bien Nacido) and spends 17 months in 62% new French oak barrels. Showing medium ruby in the glass, it bursts with aromas of black raspberry, violet flowers, pink peppercorn, spruce, ground cardamom and a touch of unique salinity. Wonderfully balanced on the palate, showing perfect acidity, a lengthy finish, ample ripe red-fruit flavors with a touch of black licorice and black tea complete the palate. The tannins are wonderfully integrated but give it another year or two in bottle to completely integrate. An absolutely gorgeous wine and highly recommended. Only 16 barrels produced. Highly recommended.
