The 2018 Patria Cabernet Sauvignon is a drop dead gorgeous showing in this vintage. It is composed of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot sourced from Oakville Ranch. This instantly impresses with its stunning aromatics of ripe dark cherries, blackberries and blackcurrants, which join together with violets, mocha, graphite, loam and hints of cigar box that all explode from the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied and impeccably structured with big polished tannins that are seamless, yet hold everything in place beautifully. It displays wonderful concentration and depth with a ripe that bursts with flavors of blue and dark fruits along with violets, mocha and exotic spices. The 2018 is an absolutely phenomenal wine from Patria that is sensational in its youth, but should also go on to have a brilliant future ahead.
