The 2018 'LMV Salon' is composed of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Cabernet Franc that spent 20 Months, 69% New Tonnellerie Demptos and it is a simply gorgeous showing in this vintage. It instantly begins to impress as it displays an incredible combination of elegance, complexity and precision as it offers striking aromatics of blackberries, dark cherries and even some hints of blueberry, which are accented with fresh florals, tobacco, sweet spices, licorice, sweet espresso and loamy notes that all come together beautifully. On the palate this offers a lovely medium-plus body with incredible overall balance and focus. The tannins are beautifully polished and have a wonderful roundness, that results in a stunning sleek, finessed mouthfeel which persists through the concentrated finish. The 2018 LMV Salon shows remarkable overall purity, finesse and restraint, which is simply spectacular. Overall, this is an absolutely radiant wine that should have an extremely bright future ahead, yet it is also the most accessible of all Larkmead’s 2018 offerings.
