The 2018 'HS' (Hyde Selection) Chardonnay from Tor is utterly captivating. It begins to evolve beautifully in the glass, releasing stunning aromas of ripe pear, Meyer lemon, honeysuckle and fresh vanilla blossoms, which are accented with nuances of crushed stones and ocean mist. On the palate this displays striking overall balance and focus with a gorgeous textured mouthfeel that possesses notable precision, yet also shows wonderful weight and substance through the mouth coating finish. This is another simply remarkable Chardonnay from Tor in this vintage which is absolutely fabulous today, but should also go on to drink exceptionally well for years to come.
