The 2015 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 'Pan' opens to a wonderful range aromatics starting with plum reduction and dark cherries, which are woven together with spices, herbs and hints of tar all emerging from the glass. This possessed a medium-plus body with a lovely soft, velvety mouthfeel giving way to a ripe core that is laced with sweet dark fruits and spices which continue to linger through the round finish. This is in a nice spot to approach now, and it also displays the potential to age for at least a few more years in the cellar.
