The 2018 Wildfoote Vineyard Cabernet is another majestic wine from Bevan in this spectacular vintage. This Cabernet evolves beautifully in the glass with extended air contact, releasing stunning aromas of blueberry pie, ripe blackberries and cassis, which are joined by exotic spices, crushed violets, cigar box and a hint of anise. On the palate this is every bit as impressive, displaying a gorgeous full body that is concentrated, yet also possesses remarkable balance and poise. It goes on to deliver layers of ripe blue and black berries, which come together with cigar box and a late appearance of sweet yellow habanero on the long, opulent finish. Overall, this is simply fantastic wine that is already thoroughly impressive at this young age, however if approaching early, readers should be sure to allow this a few hours of air contact to fully express itself.
