A magnificent effort from winemaker Chris Flagwood. The beautiful 2018 vintage has created gorgeous, fruit-forward, spicy and elegant Pinot Noirs in the Willamette Valley, and this wine is no exception. Aged for a year in 40% new French oak, you are gifted with a bouquet of fresh blueberry, ripe bramble, grated cloves and brown mushroom powder. Tannins are surprisingly high but not overwhelming and the acid is just a hair above medium. Your palate is rewarded with a burst of black cherry, blueberry, cloves, crushed oyster shells, forest floor and saline. Lots of potential with this wine – give it a year or two more in bottle and enjoy for another decade. 2020 cases produced.
