The 2016 Barbaresco is simply magnificent in this vintage. As this slowly evolves in the glass it releases striking aromas of spiced red plums, warm road tar, forest floor, hearth smoked meat and hints of dried eucalyptus leaf. On the palate this continues to deliver beautiful flavor profile of red plums, with cherries and a sweet dark cocoa that are all wrapped up in gorgeous tannins are extremely robust and structured. This continues to impress with its beautiful texture, tons of complexity and a finish that ends with vibrant sweet acidity that evokes a wild strawberry vinaigrette character leaving your mouth watering. The 2016 is a total beauty and while this is already quite fascinating in its youth, it should also go on to have a stunning future ahead.
