The 'Steinertal' is an absolutely stunning Grüner Veltliner from Alzinger in this vintage. The Grüner Veltliner comes from the lower and deeper terraces, which are composed of gneiss, mica schist, primary rock & loam, resulting in a wonderul mineral character in the wine. This begins to impress with its complex aromatic profile of fresh white pear, white peaches, lychee, dried mint leaf, flint and salty stones which all meld together beautifully. On the palate this is just as impressive, crisp and vibrant, with a gorgeous textured mouthfeel that is impeccably balanced and precise through the mineral-laced finish. This is a simply facinating Grüner Veltliner from one of the regions leading producers that is showing excellent today, yet also has the potential to age for quite some time.
