BODEGA CHACRA Chardonnay, Patagonia 2019

The 2019 Bodega Chacra Chardonnay is simply thrilling in this vintage. This beautiful wine comes from a collaboration the famed Burgundy producer Jean-Marc Roulot and Piero Incisa della Rocchetta. The Chardonnay is sourced from 40 year-old vines grown on river stones covered with crushed white calcareous rock and aged in a combination of 20% concrete eggs, 15% stainless steel tanks and 20% used French oak barrels for ten months. As far as the wine itself, it begins to open with clean, fresh aromas of crisp apple, white peach, lemon zest, honeysuckle and white florals accented by intense stony mineral notes with hints of smoky undertones. Impressive for its overall balance, purity and precision, this is an utterly riveting wine that displays wonderful aging potential and will easily rival the finest Chardonnay from anywhere in the world.
