Kistler's Stone Flat Vineyard Chardonnay is simply fantastic in 2017. Stone Flat is located across from the Kistler block in Durell and has the same marine loam soils threaded with cobblestones, but planted on a different rootstock. The wine itself possesses impressive aromatics, with seductive nuances of white flowers, flint, honeysuckle, white peaches, toasted hazelnut and orange blossoms which burst from the glass. On the palate this offers a medium-plus body with a fantastic mouthcoating texture as well as laser-like focus which highlights the gorgeous fruit and provides wonderful sense of freshness as this flows seamlessly into the beautiful, citrus driven finish. Overall the Stone Flat is an absolute classic Chardonnay that should go on to age gracefully for over a decade.
