The 2017 Wildfoote Vineyard 'Vixen Block' Cabernet Sauvignon is another absolutely outstanding showing in this vintage from Russel Bevan. It instantly begins to impress with is wonderful aromas of ripe blueberries and crème de cassis which are woven together with spices, violets and underlying nuances of wet stones and a dusty character. On the palate his is full-bodied, displaying wonderful freshness with gorgeous acidity framing the dense, concentrated core of red and dark fruits which continue to persist through the long supple finish. This is fantastic today, however it should also have a brilliant future ahead and age beautifully for years to come.
