The 2017 Château Pape Clement is a remarkable showing in this vintage. Already very expressive this opens to gorgeous aromatics of blackberries and currants which are woven together with tobacco, herbs, licorice, spices, roasted coffee and earthy nuances that all take shape beautifully in the glass. On the palate this is medium-plus to full-bodied and beautifully structured with well polished tannins and wonderful freshness through the finish. The 2017 is a total success and already extremely. Composed of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot, this is a total knockout and should have a brilliant future ahead.
