This beautiful red from La Jota, comes from some of the oldest Cabernet Franc vines in Napa. It opens with seductive and complex aromas of ripe dark currant, blackberry, wild cherries, along with violets, licorice, graphite, tobacco, and hints of dried herbs. On the palate this is medium-plus to full-bodied, with remarkable concentration, wonderful purity. The gorgeous opulent mouthfeel gives way to layers of beautifully ripe dark and red fruits, which continue to build on the palate and linger into the long, mouthwatering finish. While this delicious now, I expect it will thrive in the cellar and continue to offer many years of pleasure.
