The 2016 Château Mouton Rothschild is an absolute masterpiece and a model of perfection. This utterly brilliant Pauillac is composed of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot and it delivers on every level. Displaying an incredible dark, opaque color which is followed by intoxicating aromatics of black currants, blueberries, violets, tobacco, sweet exotic spices and espresso nuances that all burst from the glass. On the palate this boasts a gorgeous full-bodied frame, with a marvelous combination of both power and elegance. It goes on to impress with its remarkable overall balance and structure while demonstrating incredible depth and concentration through the beautifully polished finish. The 2016 is nothing short of exceptional today, and certainly has the potential to be an all-time classic vintage for Mouton.
