The 2016 Rancho Pequeño Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from the Araujo’s vineyard on the eastern side of Oakville. The vineyard consists of deep alluvial loam placed by erosion from the Vaca Mountains and the these mineral characteristics reflect beautifully in this terroir driven wine. The wine itself is simply gorgeous, offering bright aromas of cherries and cassis woven together with tobacco, fresh herbs, spices, dried florals a loamly mineral character all taking shape. On the palate Medium-bodied with fine, polished tannins and wonderful overall balance. Displaying incredible class and elegance, this gorgeous Cabernet is drinking exceptionally well today, but should go on to evolve beautifully over the next decade and even beyond.
