2016 is the first vintage the Husic’s have produced a Cabernet Sauvignon solely from the lower terrace vineyard in the Stags Leap District. The result is an outstanding wine that instantly opens to gorgeous aromas of red and dark currants along with baking spices, pencil shavings and sage nuances all coming together in the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied wit a gorgeous plush inviting texture that expands beautifully. It goes on to display wonderful depth and concentration with a plush core of ripe dark and red fruits that are framed by supple acidity leading up to the long juicy finish. This is an absolutely sensational bottle of Cabernet that is fully accessible now, yet will continue to evolve gracefully over the next decade or two. The property is managed by Jim Barbour and Mike Hirby handles the winemaking. Only 25 cases produced from one new French oak barrel.
