2013 Top 100 - Rank # 70 The 2010 Alfredo Maestro Vina Almate 'La Olmera' is 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) from a 30-year-old vines on a clay calcareous slope at 800 meters elevation in the Bocos del Duero, Ribera del Duero. It displays loads of crushed black fruits, dried cherry, blueberry along with violets, white flowers and tar. Fantastic structure and acidity, with a mouth coating, chalky finish. The wine was aged 12 months in French barriques but will still need some more time in bottle before it peaks. (Best 2016-2025) - July, 2013 (MD)
