The 2009 Rocche is absolutely stunning, drawing you right in with layers of black cherries, fresh summer truffles, spices, herbs, vanilla and gorgeous floral. This is structured and very well balanced, demonstrating outstanding depth, focus and finesse, even becoming powerful with air contact. It finishes up beautiful with dark cherries and tar notes making an encore. Just an amazing Barolo from Pietro Ratti that is approachable early on but will also thrive in the cellar.
