Founded in 2002 by Canadian entrepreneur Cliff Lede, Cliff Lede Vineyards is a distinguished family-run winery nestled in the prestigious Stags Leap District of Napa Valley. The 60-acre estate includes two key vineyards—Poetry, set along the steep hillside, and Rhythm, located on the valley floor—each carefully cultivated to highlight the unique characteristics of the land.

The winery’s cutting-edge facility was completed in 2005. It blends artisanal craftsmanship with modern innovations such as a gravity-flow system, advanced optical sorting, and a temperature-controlled cave for aging—powered sustainably by a 300-kilowatt solar installation. Under the leadership of Director of Winemaking Christopher Tynan, the winery crafts a range of acclaimed wines, including the signature Poetry Cabernet Sauvignon.

Now managed by Cliff’s son, Jason Lede, the winery continues to evolve with a strong commitment to sustainability and innovation. The introduction of the Rhythm label offers a fresh expression of the estate’s terroir, aiming to reach new audiences while honoring the family’s winemaking heritage.

The 2022 releases from Cliff Lede Vineyards highlight the estate’s continued excellence in crafting expressive, terroir-driven wines with elegance and depth. Among the highlights is the 2022 Songbook Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from David Abreu’s Madrona Ranch Vineyard, nestled in the foothills of the Mayacamas mountain range, and Cliff Lede’s Poetry Estate Vineyard. It showcases notes of dark currants and blueberries which are layered with notes of warm baking spices, rich mocha, wild sage, crushed stone, and a delicate hint of violet. However, standing out amongst all are the 2022 Poetry Cabernet Sauvignon and the Beckstoffer To Kalon Cabernet with scores approaching perfection.  These releases reflect the winery’s signature balance of innovation and tradition, emphasizing both varietal purity and artistic blending.
