Made from an interesting blend of 72% Zinfandel, 12% Carignane, 12% Petite Sirah, 2% Syrah, 1% Grenache, 1% Alicante Bouschet, this wine is crafted from three vineyards in the Dry Creek area of Sonoma County. Roughly 20% of the vines used for this wine are 80 to 100 years old. The wine opens with a bouquet of prune and lavender which burst from the glass. On the palate this possesss a velvety texture, which is supported by a strong acid backbone. Everything comes together on the finish with flavors of red cherry, plum and raspberry rounding things out. Today, this is drinking well and looks to still have a few good years ahead.
