This Cabernet is sourced from the Mountain Terraces Vineyard, which is situated on the western slopes of the Mayacamus in Sonoma’s Moon Mountain AVA. The vineyard’s terraced rows range up to 1700 feet, this elevation is perfect for allowing long sunny days and cool nights to achieve optimal ripeness for the Cabernet. The wine itself is and absolutely gorgeous showing, delivering seductive aromas of blackberry, spice box, plum, dark chocolate, tar, bell pepper, loam and acacia flowers. It possesses wonderful focus and concentration with loads of dense fruits, picking up plenty of complexity with time in the glass. This is a layered, pure and multi-dimensional Cabernet Sauvignon that continues to impress all the way through the finish. Today this is still tightly wound and allowing this some short-term cellaring to soften up will certainly pay off. (Best 2018-2028) - January, 2015 (MD)
