The 2014 Argyle 'Nuthouse' Pinot Noir is a sensational new release wine from this estate and talented head winemaker Nate Klostermann. This esteemed bottling that follows up the excellent 2013 'Nuthouse' and was sourced from the Spirit Hill Vineyard (65%) as well as from the Lone Star Vineyard (35%). The wine opens with rich aromatics of black truffle, black cherry, red raspberry, dried mint and suggestions of spicebox. The palate is plush, showcasing this warm vintage. Not needing a decant, there are intense flavors of red raspberry, black cherry, black olive, forest floor, black truffle and boysenberry preserves with a marvelous saline component. While this will cellar well into the next decade, why wait? This is decadent right now. (Best 2016-2026) - September, 2016 (OB)
