KEN WRIGHT CELLARS Chardonnay, Celilo Vineyard 2011

The 2011 'Celilo Vineyard' Chardonnay is an exceptional effort by Ken Wright. Sourced from this esteemed 1000 ft. elevation site in the Columbia Gorge region, the Celilo Vineyard is a very cool site for Chardonnay which was first planted in 1983. This wine opens with aromas of roasted hazelnuts, buttered popcorn, and brioche toast. This leads to flavors of Gala apple, vanilla cream, poached pear and nutmeg. This has marvelous texture, minerality and a seamless quality to this exceedingly cool vintage wine. This wine delivers some serious value at this price point. (Best 2016-2024) - June, 2016 (OB)
