PONZI Chardonnay 'Reserve' 2013

This Chardonnay was sourced from the Avellana and Aurora Vineyards in the Chehalem Mountains along with Sunset View Vineyards in the Eola-Amity Hills and the Thistle Vineyard in the Dundee Hills. It underwent 100% malolactic fermentation and was stirred weekly for six months on the lees and was fermented in barrel using partial wild yeast followed by 20 months in French oak barrels (10% new). This wine begins with aromas of butter, poached pear, brioche and hazelnut. Flavors of gala apple, whipping cream, nutmeg and peach pit with Meyer lemon accents. The finish lingers long on the tongue. This is absolutely lovely. (Best 2016-2026) - February, 2016 (OB)
