The 2014 Olsen Vineyard Syrah is a gorgeous release from Gramercy Cellars. This plush wine opens with aromatics of black cherries, crème de cassis, mocha, green bell pepper and hints of French vanilla. On the palate there are beautifully concentrated flavors of black cherries, blackberry pie, coffee grounds and creosote. This Syrah is rich and intense with wonderful balance and lovely mineral streak throughout. While this is alpready outstanding, I expect it to continue to evolve over the next decade.
