The 2019 Pambrun Merlot aged for 18 months in 60% new French oak barrels and showcases a brick-garnet core with a neon purple rim in the glass. Brambly fruit, cedary herbs, blood orange zest, wet clay, pencil shavings, and just a touch of black licorice candy jump from the glass. Tannins are crunchy, and the wine needs some time to come together. Best in 2023. Just 375 cases produced.
