The 2014 Darioush Cabernet Sauvignon is a show-stopping blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec, and 3% Petit Verdot. The wine was aged French oak (85% new) for 22 months prior to bottling. This highly perfumed wine begins with aromatics reminiscent of coffee grounds, creme de cassis and black cherry syrup. Massively dense and intoxicating this has huge range, and fruit weight. Beautifully plush on the mid-palate there are concentrated flavors of dark fruits connecting with mocha and Asian spices. This has an exotic and hedonistic edge, however try to allow at least another year or two in bottle before approaching. (Best 2018-2040) - December, 2017 (OB)
