The 2014 is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller parts Petit Verdot and Merlot. The grapes were sourced from Carr, Mill Creek, Sultan and a host of other great Napa vineyards and the wine was aged for 20 months in 70% new French oak prior to bottling. As this begins to open it releases a gorgeous bouquet of crème de cassis, black cherries, mocha, mint and sandalwood. This has a marvelous texture with excellent depth and concentration, showing layers of coffee grounds, mint, crème de cassis and milk chocolate flavors that are extremely appealing with a long finish that completes the wine. While this excellent Cabernet does show early appeal, I expect it will begin to hit its stride in just a few years. (Best 2018-2030) - September, 2017 (OB)
