The 2014 'Varozza Vineyard' Zinfandel is a stunning effort by Robert Biale. The Varozza family has been farming on this site since 1913. This seamless wine opens with aromatics of black plum, black cherry, prune and blackberry cobbler. There are plush flavors of black cherry, cola, prune, boysenberry preserves, blueberry compote and hints of dark chocolate shavings. The smoothness and silky texture of this wine makes this wine a true heavyhitter. There is almost a Bordelaise character to this exceptional wine.(Best 2016-2027) - June, 2016 (OB)
