BERINGER VINEYARDS Chardonay 'Luminus' 2014

The 2014 Beringer 'Luminus' Chardonnay is an excellent bottling from head winemaker Mark Beringer. Sourced from newer Burgundian clones in the Oak Knoll district, this wine utilizes roughly 20% new oak, considerably less than the Private Reserve Chardonnay. The wine begins with aromas of nutmeg, brioche, roasted hazelnuts and cantaloupe. The wine has medium weight flavors reminiscent of brioche, poached pear, vanilla cream and Meyer lemon oil. Lovely range and intensity to this excellent Chardonnay. (Best 2016-2021) - May, 2016 (OB)
