This wine comes from vines planted in a vineyard overlooking the Russian River in the Alexander Valley. The vineyard has a strong maritime effect from Pacific Coast fog. Weighing in at 14.2% alcohol, this wine was aged 9 months in French oak barrels (50% new). This wine opens with spice cake, red cherry, dill and pomegranate. On the palate there are flavors of cran-cherry, raspberry preserves, roasted figs and forest floor. This Tempranillo has a nice combination of earth and fruit that is far from Rioja. A unique bottling, and is currently drinking almost like an earthy Merlot. (Best 2015-2024) - November, 2015 (OB)
