The 2009 Peju Zinfandel offers a mouthful of sweet currant, exotic spices, crushed pepper, mocha, herbs and warm toasted notes. Polished, showing nice concentration and a touch of acidity for balance. Finishes up long with lots of ripe fruit and spicy flavors lingering. Composed of 82% Zinfandel, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot aged 16 months in 100% American Oak, partly new. (Best 2013-2018) - February, 2013 (JD)
