The 2019 Sugarloaf Mountain Red is wonderful blend that impresses with its gorgeous aromatic profile of ripe blackberries, blackcurrants and black cherries, which are accented by spices, tobacco, herbs, graphite and shades of dark floral nuances all coming together beautifully in the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied, beautifully textured and well-structured with nicely polished tannins that make this extremely appealing now. It goes on to display wonderful concentration, with layers of beautifully ripe dark fruits that are laced with violets and crushed gravel characteristics that weave their way through the long lasting finish. This is outstanding now, but should become even more compelling as it evolves over the next decade.
