The 2014 Chanin Pinot Noir from Bien Nacido is an absolutely stellar effort. It has a gorgeous nose that bursts open with, enticing aromas of pomegranate, raspberry, savory herb and fresh florals which are woven together with crushed stone, exotic spices, and a mix of earthy like nuances. This is even more impressive for its amazing structure and elegance which is tightly wound around silky tannins and backed by a core of racy acidity. Overall, this wine remains beautifully balanced and focused through the elegant finish. Although it is showing well today, it could benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and will continue to flourish over the next decade. (Best 2018-2029) - May, 2016 (MD)
