This Chardonnay was sourced from the Celilo Vineyard in Columbia Gorge. This unique vineyard situated on a 1,000 foot bluff, overlooking the Columbia River and lies on the South face of Mount Underwood, which is currently an inactive volcano. The porous soils allow for deep rooting of the vines which adds a lovely mineral component to the wine, which is accented by aromas and flavors of poached bear, crème brûlée, brioche and buttered popcorn and crushed stones. This wine would likely pass for a great white Burgundy. (Best 2017-2025) - April, 2017 (OB)
