A touch darker core than its 2019 siblings with a slightly reddish-brick rim, the 2019 Lafayette Heights is a meatier, more robust version of its siblings. Boasting flavors and aromas of ripe crushed boysenberries, mulberries, crushed white peppercorn, sweet toasted clove, iron, and just a touch of black-peppered charcuterie, it’s complex and interesting. Tannins are starting to smooth out, but the backbone and the structure of the wine remain strong. Only 100 cases made.
