The 2011 Sbragia Monte Rosso Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a layered, powerful wine with some serious intensity. It instantly opens with bold aromas of black currants, kirsch liquor, savory herbs, bell pepper, licorice, sweet spices and touches of vanilla. This full-bodied Mountain Cabernet shows remarkable depth and concentration, while remaing smooth, polished and round all they way through the plush finish. The wine was aged for 24 months in new French oak barrels from the Nevers forest. Today, this still needs a bit more time in bottle, but overall, a fantastic showing from Ed Sbragia that will only get better as it evolves over the next decade.
