The Chardonnay for this bottling is organically grown and sourced from 30-year-old vines in Calera's Mt. Harlan Vineyards. This is a bold, powerful Chardonnay, yet remains beautifully balanced. It brings pretty aromas of lemon oil, green herbs, petrol, honeydew melon, cream, key lime, smoke, fresh mineral water and crushed floral notes. It is absolutely delicious, with lots of pure fruit and supple texture, which is supported by a solid core and long vibrant finish. The wine was Aged 10 months in French oak barrels (30% new) and will be approachable upon release, but it can also be cellared for up to a decade. (Best 2014-2024) - April, 2014 (MD)
