PHILO RIDGE Pinot Noir, Marguerite Vineyard 2012

With only 190 cases produced from 40-year-old vines at 1500’ elevation, the 2012 Marguerite vineyard Pinot Noir is low in yield, but high in quality. Elegant with depth, but still retains the crispness and vibrancy of new, fresh fruit. The color is deeper garnet, with focused aromas of ripe red strawberries and sage. Palate is penetrating with intense depth of flavor of fresh plum, dark cherries with a lengthy earthy finish. The complexity and depth will allow this wine to age a few years, although perfectly ready to drink now. (Best 2016-2023) - December, 2016 (DJH)
