This Pinot Noir from Lutum is from the Gap's Crown Vineyard, which is located at southern part of the Sonoma Coast. The vineyard in a cooler climate and is composed of rocky soils with excellent drainage, which are ideal conditions for Pinot Noir. As the wine begins to open it offers bold aromas of red fruit, crushed strawberries, dried herb, and rose petals. It is full-boddied with lots of dense red berries, currant and fresh minerality. This certainly needs some bottle age before it's peak and will continue to develop over the next decade plus. (Best 2017-2027) - May, 2016 (MD)
