Fruit coming from the famed Boushey Vineyard, the 2021 La Serenne from Betz sports a ravishing nose of dried blackberries, red plums, dark rose, melted chocolate, new leather, scorched earth, charcuterie, and crushed peppercorn. A medium to dark ruby and purple core moves to a bluish rim and additional flavors of dried sage and bitter forest herbs on the back palate on the finish. Crunchy tannins and mouthwatering acidity complete this wine. Still a baby, so wait a year or two before popping it open. Highly recommended.
