The 2021 Olaine was aged 7 months in a combination of concrete egg, 600L French oak barrels, and 225L barriques with 8% being new. Starting off a bit shy on the nose, it slowly releases aromas of green pear, dried tropical fruit, white grapefruit, clove, and wet white clay. It doesn’t have a lot of the gooseberry aromas that oftentimes people don’t enjoy in Sauvignon Blancs. Fresh and vibrant on the palate, it delivers a lengthy fruit-forward finish. Only 575 cases were made.
