Showing pale gold in color, the 2020 Chardonnay from Cote Bonneville gives off a nose of slight oak and lemon peel. Medium bodied, with elevated acidity cutting through the creamy mouthfeel, this offering was slightly closed on entry. After a little coaxing, slight butterscotch, pear, brioche, and a spray of nectarine showed on the palate. While remaining reserved throughout, slight caramel showed through as it went from mid-palate to finish. It may need a year or two of aging to show its best stuff and then should have 5-7 more years in its prime.
